The JBOD storage solution has been designed to extend the capacity of any** Dedicated Micros digital recorder.
Combining multiple internal hard disks the JBOD can enhance any system by increasing the already large storage capacity supported on Dedicated Micros DVR's.
Automatically detected by the digital recorded the JBOD can be installed and working within minutes. With this increase in storage capacity the customer now has the option to increase the record rate on the DVR, add cameras to the record sequence, etc. without the worry of reaching maximum capacity and reduces the frequency of off-line archiving.
Available with varying storage capacity the JBOD is ideal for any situation, and with the facility to daisy-chain the units the option for increasing as and when required is a real possibility - just add another JBOD!
The JBOD fits nicely into the Dedicated Micros portfolio and offers a true plug and play solution for additional storage - connect, minor configuration and record!
With the self diagnostic support the JBOD can identify if there are any internal issues with the hard disks and activate alarm notification that a problem has occurred, ensuring the issue can be resolved instantly.
All Dedicated Micros digital multiplexers can support up to seven SCSI devices, therefore it is possible to increase the storage of a single DVR by adding several JBOD units. Giving an additional storage capacity of 7Tb ensuring the solution can fit into many system requirements.

The JBOD can support up to 1Tb of internal storage, several JBODs can be connected together to give a maximum additional storage capacity of 7Tb.

How can extend the standard storage capacity of my DVR? How can I add redundancy into my system to ensure my recordings are safe?
The introduction of the Dedicated Micros RAID system answers, and surpasses, both these questions.
The Dedicated Micros RAID unit has been designed to offer compatible with the Dedicated Micros DVR and DVIP system**. It allows additional storage capacity to be added to the existing internal hard disk of the DVR and enhances this by offering redundancy and resilience to ensure any recorded video images are securely stored.
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) gives that 'peace of mind' factor that even in the unlikely event of disk failure the video information will not be lost, the redundancy of the system ensures that the video from the failed disk has simultaneously been stored on one of the other disks in the system.
Simple to install and configure the RAID unit can become part of a new installation or added to an existing system to enhance the system capabilities - increased, secure recording.
Benefits
A single RAID or multiple RAIDs can be added to the system by daisy chaining the units together, this allows the storage capacity of a single DVR to be increased to up to 14T.
With resilience and redundancy of the system the RAID unit is very powerful and would be an ideal solution for high security applications. But with the competitive pricing it means that this powerful, secure storage solution can be included in any application requiring large storage capacity.
Supporting 'hot swap' allows disks to be removed and replaced without interrupting the system and without the loss of any information; any power supplies or fan can also be replaced without the need to switch the unit off.
With self diagnostics any internal issues that may occur can be quickly and easily identified and notification presented to the Administrator.

- Selective RAID levels - The RAID unit by default is set as RAID 5 however there is the option to configure the device to meet the specification requirements - RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 3 or 5, JBOD.
- Hot Swap components - The RAID units supports 'hot swap' for the internal hard disks drives, redundant power supply unit and cooling fan ensuring the operation of the system is never interrupted and all recordings are secure.

Dedicated Micros Managed Storage Unit (MSU) is a high capacity external storage device that provides increased video storage capacity for Dedicated Micros DVRs equipped with External SATA Connectors.
Using a combination of continuous monitoring and environmental control ensures that disks are individually monitored and cooled to ensure optimum operating conditions. Intelligent power control ensures that disks are only in operation when access is required. This pro-active approach to storage management considerably extends disk life, ensuring that system up-time is maximised and maintenance costs minimised.
Automatic detection from the DVR means installation of the MSU could not be simpler, whilst health reporting and fi eld serviceable drives ensure that maintenance can be planned and undertaken with minimum system disruption.
Dedicated Micros Managed Storage Units are currently compatible with the following products; DV-IP RT, HighVu Excel, SD Range, DV-IP Server, DV-IP HD and DV-IP Express. Please see the relevant DVR datasheets for full compatibility and to confirm number of MSUs supported on each product.
